Chief Flavor Explorer

Accountable for eating and drinking your way through our culinary scene and calling it research.

  • St. Pete-Clearwater, Florida

Job description:

About the Role

Visit St. Pete-Clearwater is looking for a hungry leader to join the SPC-Suite as our Chief Flavor Explorer (CFE). Reporting directly to your appetite, you’ll taste your way through St. Pete-Clearwater’s BEACH.CULTURE., from fresh Gulf catches and frozen drinks to MICHELIN-recommended dining, unique craft cocktails, buzzy openings, neighborhood favorites, and the places worth saving room for. You’ll eat. You’ll drink. You’ll call it research. The ideal candidate is a chef, foodie, creator, culinary storyteller, or professional order-for-the-table person with discerning taste, an appetite for discovery and a proven ability to send people to their next favorite place.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Dive fork-first into field research across St. Pete-Clearwater’s food and drink scene, exploring restaurants, bars, breweries, markets, and whatever else catches your eye or appetite.

  • Get to know the chefs, makers, bartenders, and local characters behind what’s on the plate and in the glass.

  • Evaluate your findings using highly professional criteria, including taste, atmosphere and the all-important “How jealous will everyone be when I post this?” metric.

  • Capture the dishes, drinks, people, and places worth talking about around this “Next Great Foodie Destination” and turn them into compelling social content.

  • Join forces with your fellow SPC-Suite executives, including the Chief Vibes Officer and Chief Sunset Curator, in the pursuit of BEACH.CULTURE.

  • Take your newfound St. Pete-Clearwater expertise on the road for a special BEACH.CULTURE. collaboration in a key U.S. market to be determined.

  • Perform other flavor-related duties as appetite requires.

Flavor Exploring Skills Required

  • A food-obsessed creative with a point of view people trust. Chef, foodie, creator, culinary storyteller, or otherwise, you’re the person people ask where they should eat.

  • An adventurous palate and genuine curiosity about the diverse St. Pete-Clearwater local food culture and the people behind it.

  • Ability to dine in the sugar-white sand and also at a white tablecloth experience

  • A demonstrated ability to turn a great meal, drink, or discovery into a story people want to follow.

  • Knowledge that the phone eats first and a proficiency in capturing and creating social content across channels, with a pulse on the latest formats, trends, and what’s worth sharing next.

  • An engaging personality and comfort being both behind and in front of the camera.

  • An eagerness to eat seafood before noon when business needs require it.

  • The ability to work independently, collaboratively and, ideally, on a full stomach.

  • A willingness to temporarily call St. Pete-Clearwater home for a 10-day in-destination assignment between November 6 and November 22, 2026.

Compensation:

This is a contract position (independent contractor, 1099)

  • $10,000 for a 10-day in-destination assignment

  • VIP experiences

  • Airfare to and from destination to be arranged and covered

  • Lodging to be arranged and funded for a 10-day stay during the in-destination assignment between November 6 and November 22, 2026

Applicable candidates will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Authenticity and storytelling: how compellingly the applicant (or nominee) makes the case for why they need and deserve this role

  • Creativity and originality: how memorable or distinctive the video is

  • Video presentation: clarity, watchability, effort put into the submission

  • Social presence and audience engagement: quality and authenticity of existing audience, not just follower count

  • Content creation ability: quality of past work across Instagram, TikTok and/or LinkedIn

  • Alignment with BEACH. CULTURE.: fit with Visit St. Pete-Clearwater's brand voice and destination identity

  • Availability and commitment: confirmed ability to participate in a 10-day in-destination assignment between November 6 and November 22, 2026
